--THE NEW IT BAGS--

The death of the it-bag has been much remarked upon in recent seasons, supposedly as a sign of the new austerity not only in fashion, but in Western society in general. However, people are sheep at heart, and a new type of it-bag has made its way not-so-stealthily onto the fashion stage. It might lack the overt 'bling' factor of the old established favourite, but it's still instantly recognisable, covetable and jealousy-inspiring.

Here, a collection of some of today's it-est it-bags.

Celine Classic Bag

Celine Luggage Tote

Chanel 2.55

Proenza Schouler PS1

Bucket Bags a) Alexander Wang

Bucket Bags b) Vintage

I don't understand "it" bags because I'm a shoe girl but the 2.55 will always be the ultimate "it" bag. Funny, it stays so in style as people seem to love bags so big they could carry themselves around in them.
