For christmas I received 'Fashion A to Z', a dictionary of fashion terminology by Alex Newman and Zakee Shariff. In an attempt to educate myself more about the complexities of the industry I spend such a large amount of time researching etc, here are a select few terms which aren't completely obsolete today (and there's a surprising number of 'em in there).
Accordion pleat-a narrow pleat that, when used in series, resembles the bellows of an accordion, hence the name. Also called 'sunburst pleat'.

(google.com-I couldn't be bothered to browse all of the s/s '10 collections to find pleats, so I just picked some random stuff from whenever)
