--DENIM JACKETS--

I haven't really lived long enough or owned enough clothes to have many regrets about items I've given away. However I remember distinctly giving a denim jacket to a charity shop last summer (it was a little on the small side, but it totally would have fitted me over just a vest or t-shirt) before I knew it would be the item for S/S '10. And a denim jacket is something I absolutely refuse to buy new from Topshop or wherever on point of principle. So annoying.

--COMEDY VALUE--

I love it when something in fashion makes you laugh. Because usually it's an industry that takes itself so seriously-I mean, other people laugh at it, but if you're at all interested you don't, really, because that's kind of rude...There's always something in i-D that makes me laugh, though-guaranteed every single issue. And you know why? Cos it's English. Hell yeah. See the thing is...English people are just funnier. That's the way it is.

Case in point-Nylon TV videos for the Young Hollywood issue. First I sat through a few really teen-America ones of random actresses I've never heard of before (yes, this is what I do on my weekend...) being all, "And I reeeeally love this dreeess, cause it's gaht these reeeeeally cuuuute li'l spaarrrrkles on it," and I'm all, "I'm reeeeeally getting quite annoyed by your voice right now..." Then I found Rupert Grint's, which genuinely made me lol, because he's so your archetypal English student (actually, he reminds me a lot of my cousin), all awkward and with long hair-and he doesn't describe his new film, he describes his pets. Standard. Also Bonnie Wright (who plays Ginny in Harry Potter, see the smooth connection there?) is there-I don't know, maybe it's because the British are so much less skilled at self-publicising, but English people in the media always seem way more genuine. (Or maybe I'm biased...hm).

Well anyway this post really has no point and I was going to insert some of my favourite i-D quotes but that would require a lot of effort and heigh ho I have revision to do so...I shall save that for a later date. But watch the videos if you have time because they're really short and not really about anything, but then nor are most things you watch on YouTube so you might as well.

--KEEPING IT DIFFERENT--

I may very possibly be the only teenage girl interested in fashion in the western world who doesn't have a massive girl crush on Chloe Sevigny-I don't know why, I just don't find her that amazing-but I love what Kate Bosworth wore to the Valentino party thingy. I think if you can carry it off right, wearing trousers or shorts to an evening event can look absolutely fantastic-so chic and unusual. Here, the t-shirt is casual but the sparkles save it from looking like she couldn't be bothered to make an effort-and it's perfectly complemented by her simple hair and make up. Nice one Kate Bosworth ;)

--GLADIATOR--

My new gladiator sandals from Office :) Although it seems like buying them has prompted the sun to disappear as suddenly as it came a week or so ago...However, we're going to France in the summer so at least I know I'll get some use in then!

Also new-bikini from H&M, vest from gf&98primark*988sdf don't judge me!! It's so cheap! And yes I know they use child labour, we were forced to watch a video about it in school-but just because I don't go there doesn't mean the hundreds of thousands of other people who shop there won't either...

--BLACK OUT--

Some people can be so snooty about the typical 'model off-duty' look composed of multiple layers of black, but the truth is it's such a fail-safe option for looking great! I should probably now admit my shameful secret that I don't actually own a leather jacket (I decided to myself every month during the winter that now was the time to invest in one, and suddenly the winter's over and I find my wardrobe's still lacking one. Procrastination, you are my enemy.) but there are so many occasions when all I want to wear is leggings, biker boots and a jacket thrown over the top. Let's just take a moment to appreciate the beauty of effortless simplicity.
